San Ramon, CA – 15 October 2015 – Two entrepreneurs and platform veterans have joined to form a new company called infiswift to bring a more powerful Internet of Things (IoT) platform to market with a focus on enterprise-grade implementations. The goal of the company is to make it simple for any individual or organization to enhance physical things with connectivity and data. The founders are Kannan Dorairaj and Arup Barat.
“Having grown large scale IoT implementations in industries like energy and smart home, we wanted to rethink the platform that IoT services are built on,” said Kannan Dorairaj, CEO of infiswift. “We ran into challenges that existing solutions didn’t fully overcome like intermittent connectivity, low power availability, and edge computing.” This drove the innovation of a new platform architecture that could better meet the growing needs of enterprise IoT implementations and infiswift was born.
Infiswift’s platform provides the plumbing to connect and manage any endpoints you can dream of, securely and at scale. The unique architecture enables world-class security and scalability with a powerful development environment, stream processing and analytics front end for custom implementations. The ultra-lightweight design and extremely efficient operation make it ideal for intermittently connected and power deficient environments that require real-time operation and control.
Kannan is the CEO and chief architect of the infiswift IoT platform. In his role, he oversees the overarching strategy of the company as well as the technology roadmap. He has been working in enterprise software for over 20 years and started several companies in the process. He has provided thought leadership and successfully overcome several scaling and integration challenges for multiple entities in the high-tech sector faced with explosive growth.
Arup is a visionary thought leader with over 15 years of global experience bringing innovative technologies to market at the intersection of software and renewable energy. As co-founder and CCO at infiswift, he is responsible for running the business side building a great product and bringing it to the right customers. Prior to joining infiswift, Arup has served in various executive product, marketing and strategy roles in high tech and energy.
“We’re really excited to bring this truly groundbreaking and powerful product to market,” said Arup Barat, CCO at infiswift. “We expect our platform to enable secure connectivity for industries ranging from energy to industrial processes to even basic do-it-yourself projects.”
